Obituary of Arthur Macleod


MacLEOD, Arthur Fraser Mr. Arthur Fraser MacLeod, loving husband of the late Joan MacLeod, died Saturday, May 18th at Prescott-Russell Residence, Hawkesbury, Ontario at the age of 94 years. Son of the late Duncan MacLeod and the late Elnora McKercher. Beloved father of Ross (Cheryl Argue) of Newcastle, Barbara (Rick Bain) of Calgary, Ian (Clare Gillespie) of Ottawa, Margo (Andrew Warren) of Calgary; grandfather of Erin, Grant, Leslie, Neil, Ben and great-grandfather of Amanda Mae. Predeceased by brothers Lloyd, Malcolm and Peter and sisters Cora Mary and Winnifred. Survived by sister-in-law Sarah, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Fraser was a World War II veteran, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Masonic Lodge and a devoted elder of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Hawkesbury. Throughout this active life Fraser enjoyed sports, nature and gardening. A man of few words, he earned the love and respect of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Prescott-Russell Residence especially Anne Marie Cecile and Anne Warnock for their compassionate care and support of our father. Friends may call at Berthiaume Funeral Home Ltd. 416, rue McGill, Hawkesbury (Ontario) (877) 632-8511 on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. A funeral service will be held at St-Paul Presbyterian Church in Hawkesbury on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Cassburn Public cemetery in L'Orignal.
