Stonington - Allan D. Taylor, 63, of Pawcatuck, passed on at the Westerly Health Center on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Allan was born in New York, son of the late Quintin and Annette Taylor. Allan grew up in Mystic and attended Stonington High School. He worked as a self-employed master carpenter and early in his career worked as a finish carpenter at Mystic Seaport. Allan was an artist at heart, creating work of beauty and detail, and his woodworking graces many a shoreline area home. Allan was also a music lover and guitarist in the style of John Fahey. He will be remembered for his wit and offbeat sense of humor.He leaves two sons, Jacob Taylor of South Korea and Alexander Taylor of New London; and a daughter, Caitlin Romanowski of Texas. He will also be dearly missed by brother, Richard Taylor of Hartford; sister Linda T. Peduzzi and her husband Larry, of Pawcatuck; nephew, Hendrix Taylor; and niece Jen Sablon-Taylor; cousins and friends.Allan's family thanks the wonderful staff and extended family at Westerly Health Center and Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.Visiting hours are omitted.
