ALFRED INGVAR HANSEN 1920 - 2007 Passed peacefully May 10th with his wife of 59 years, Violet, at his side. Predeceased by parents John and Gusta, sister Margaret, brothers, Oscar and Walter, sons Karl and Gordon. Survived by his sister Viola (Fred), daughters Diane, Joanne, Marilee, Leanne (Gill), sons Arnold (Beverly), Donald (Judy), Michael, and 21 grandchildren and 15.25 great-grandchildren. Born November 30th, 1920 in Victoria, he was a life long resident of Tofino. Married in 1948. A lifetime member of the RCL Branch #65. Served in the RCNFR's, WWII. Then joined the army and served in England and Germany. Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, logger, fisherman, wharf builder, fisheries officer, charter boat operator, he had a passion for the wilderness, a naturalist at heart. His great love of children and a stellar sense of humour kept him young at heart. Service will be held June 2nd at the Legion Hall starting at two o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alfred Hansen Memorial Fund c/o PO Box 44, Tofino, BC, V0R 2Z0. Funds will be used to establish an extended care facility for the West Coast.
