Obituary of Alan Taylor

TAYLOR, Alan passed away peacefully on March 1, 2005 at the age of 91. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Alix Taylor and partner Michael Costa, Leslie (Ken) Westwood; stepdaughter Bonnie (Jim) Peacock; grandchildren Erin and Fraser Taylor-Mitchell, Colin Peacock, Natasha (Darren) Murdoch and Tanya Peacock; greatgrandchildren Victoria and Lyndsey Murdoch. Alan was born in Little Hampton, England in 1913. He moved to Victoria as a young child and was in the first class of Oak Bay High. Second only to caring for his family, Alan loved his golf. He was the youngest ever to attain golfing privileges at the Victoria Golf Club at the age of 12 and when he turned 18, he became a full member and went on to become four-time club champion. In Alan's first year of retirement he played 365 rounds of golf! Recently, Alan became the 32nd person to be honoured as a life member of the Club. Alan and his wife Yvonne spent their retirement years living in a condo in Oak Bay until Yvonne passed away and, shortly thereafter, Alan moved to Berwick House. He enjoyed his time at Berwick very much and always spoke highly of those who took care of him. A reception will be held at 3:00, March 9, 2005 at the Victoria Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be greatly appreciated." 49022
