Decatur<!--Decatur-->Graveside service for William “Bill” Reardon, 85, of Decatur will be today, June 22, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with John Tinger officiating and Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be today from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Reardon, who died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at his residence, was born May 9, 1924, in Rochester, N.Y., to William M. and Ada W. Reardon. He was a member of The Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from the U.S. Naval Air Reserves. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Knights of Columbus, on the board of Old State Bank Building and Citizen Volunteer Police. He worked for Eastman Kodak, was an instructor at The Ordnance Guided Missile School in the early days of the U.S. Rocket Program and retired from Wyle Laboratories. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Timothy Reardon. Survivors include his wife, Edna “Boots” Reardon; two sons, James Reardon and wife, Dale, and Douglas Reardon and wife, Carol; one daughter, Sheila Reardon Kimber; five grandchildren, Carl Reardon and wife, Heather, Jade Reardon, Nick Reardon, Robin Kimber and James Harris; and three great-grandchildren, Kaylin Harris, Marcus Harris and Mya Harris.
