->ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Wendell Kennison Dow, 77, of St. Augustine died on April 6, 2008.Mr. Dow was a native of Winthrop, Maine. He moved to St. Augustine in 1999. Mr. Dow retired from the United States Navy as a chief petty officer with more than 30 years of service, and was the director of Cecil Field Library.Mr. Dow is survived by his wife, Carmen L. Dow, of St. Augustine; four daughters, Debra Dow, of Jacksonville, Fla., Donna Dow, of Maryland, and Linda and Brenda Dow; and two sons, Barry and Brian Dow, all of Winthrop. He also is survived by three stepdaughters, Alice Craig, Rene Leppert and Pam Smith, of St. Augustine; two stepsons, Bill (Jen) Plappert, of St. Augustine, and Harry (Sandy) Plappert, of Columbia, S.C. Mr. Dow is also survived by 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.He was predeceased by a stepson, Donnie Plappert.Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Craig Funeral Home of St. Augustine is in charge of the arrangements.
