William J. "Bill" Condon, 75, of Middleboro, passed away Oct. 3, 2011, after a brief illness. Bill was born in Brockton, March 15, 1936, and graduated from Brockton High School in 1954. He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1957. In 1957, he married Eleanor (Clifford) Condon. He was the supervisor of ship building at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard until it closed in 1975. He then worked for the supervisor of ship building in Boston, traveling throughout the U.S. and to many parts of Europe and Asia. He retired in 1991 as a project manager. Bill was a member of the Tin Can Sailors, the American Legion Post 64 in Middleboro and the Oak Point Veterans Association. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor (Clifford); and seven children, William J. Jr. and his wife Diane, Linda, Michael and his husband Michael, James and his wife Holly, Susan and her husband Angelo, Donna and her husband Gary, Stephen and his wife Marygrace. He was the brother of Maureen Condon and Kathleen and her husband, David Cockcroft. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
