PLAISTOW -- William H. Sanborn, 91, died June 28, 2010, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, Mass. He was born in Haverhill, Mass., Sept. 4, 1918, to Arthur L. and Allie L. (Abbott) Sanborn. He was a graduate of Old Orchard High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Sanborn was the owner and operator of Sanborn's Fine Candies, established in 1955 on Route 125 in Plaistow. He was a member and past president of Haverhill Kiwanis Club, member of Haverhill Golf and Country Club, Saggahew Masonic Lodge in Haverhill and Aleppo Shrine. He was married to Jennie T. (Lathas) Sanborn, who predeceased him in 2002. IN HIS LIFE: He is survived by his loving children, Billie C. and her husband Robert C. Cooper of Hampton, Diana K. and her husband, the Hon. Conrad K. Cyr, of Brewer, Maine, and Theodore W. Sanborn Sr. of E. Hampstead and his fiancee, Cheryl A. Matson; his sister, Maxine Sullivan of Southborough, Mass., sister-in-law, Bessie Vitas of Atkinson; grandchildren, Lauren L. Ryan, Robert W. Cooper, Tracey J. Hubbard and Theodore W. Sanborn Jr., six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Calling hours are Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm. at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill. A funeral is Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
