<!-- FH = Triad Cremation Society, Inc., Greensboro, NC -->Mr. William Bricker "Bill" Cochran of West Melbourne, FL died on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Mr. Cochran was the son of Arthur Cochran and Nona Hawk Cochran and was one of nine children. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and lived in Corry, PA throughout the years of his teaching career until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Cochran graduated from Langley High School in Pittsburgh and went on to serve in the United States Navy in the Pacific during World War II. After his service, he attended the University of Pittsburgh where he was captain of the Pitt swim team his senior year. Mr. Cochran later became a science teacher at Corry Area High School as well as a successful high school swim coach. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Waddell Cochran. Mr. Cochran had three children, Dave Cochran of High Point, NC, Diane Cochran of Lakewood, NY, and Pam Cochran of High Point, NC. He was a beloved grandfather of five and had four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in his honor Saturday, April 23 at the Piedmont Saddle Club in Colfax, NC. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont at 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262, (336) 889-8446.
