First Class (Retired) Thomas Earl Hogan, age 68 of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at his home.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2011 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church-Cedar Hill, 6654 Highway US 41 North, Cedar Hill, TN. Pastor Mark Washington, Euloglist. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, KY, immediately following the service.Visitation will be at 12 Noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Foston Funeral Home, with family present 6-8 p.m. A Masonic last rites service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday.He was born February 28, 1943 in Ashdown, AR, son of John Hogan, Jr. and Jardie Mae Hogan. He was preceded in death by a brother, John (Billy) Hogan and two sisters, Maynell Hogan and Patricia Collins.He retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Overseas Service Bars (2), Army commendation Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), Good Conduct Medal (fifth award), Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon (3). He also retired from the state of Tennessee. He was a member of Thomas A. Simms, Jr. Lodge No. 170, and St. James Missionary Baptist Church-Cedar Hill, where he was served on the Usher Board. He had an Associates of Occupational Science degree from Austin Peay State University.He leaves behind to cherish his beloved memory, his wife of 40 years, Delois A. Hogan; two daughters, Cathy Blakely (Tony) and Thomya Jenkins (Vincent), all of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren, Racquel Lynn Blakely, Tsahai Noelle Jenkins, Tony Ray Blakely, Jr. and Tajiri Emmanuel Jenkins, all of Clarksville, TN; six brothers, Joe Hogan, Willie Hogan, Otis Hogan and Ken Henderson, all of Long Beach, CA, Harold Hogan, Mobile, AL and Clifford Hogan, Ashdown, AK; and a host of family and friends.
