Samuel Clayton Henderson, 73 LABELLE - Samuel Clayton Henderson, passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, in Cape Coral Hope Hospice after a long illness. He was 73. He was born on Dec. 27, 1935 in Clearwater, to Margaret (Sawyer) and Frank Henderson. He has resided in LaBelle since 1990. He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1972. He worked for GTE of Tampa as Chief Engineer from 1973 to 1988. He was a member of the Masonic Temple of Tampa, Church of God of Clearwater, and the American Legion 130 of LaBelle. Survivors include his wife, Virginia, whom he married on May 25, 1988 in Tampa; a son, Sean Henderson, of Tampa; three stepchildren, Kirstie White, of Tacoma, Wash., Bryan Goodwin, of LaBelle, and Cheryl Baird; six siblings; and eight grandchildren. Cremation was at Fort Meyers Memorial Garden in Fort Meyers. No memorial is planned at this time.
