Peter Curley, 63, of Avon, passed away peacefully October 21, 2014. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany, with the Army Security Agency, achieving a SP4 rank. During this time, he established lifelong relationships and traveled extensively throughout Europe. After his discharge, he worked as a letter carrier at the Chestnut Hill Post Office for 30 years before retiring in 2009. He was a member of the DAV. An avid golfer, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, football, basketball and baseball. He enjoyed listening to music of all genres and was an avid concert-goer. Peter was a prankster who enjoyed practical jokes and loved to laugh, often at his own expense. He loved his church, family and friends, and will be missed by all. Peter was the son of the late John Jack and Theresa Curley; beloved husband of Linda (Russell) Curley for 35 years; loving father of Allison Mulhern and her husband Michael of Avon; brother of Matthew Curley and his wife Sherry, Susan Self and her husband William and Patricia Belanger and her husband Joseph, all of Avon; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Monday, Oct. 27, from 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton.
