Mildred Marie Burke, 79, of East Hanover died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hancliffe Home for Funerals, 222 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Born in Orange, Mildred resided most of her life in West Orange before moving to East Hanover two years ago. She was last employed as an assembler for Barton Press in West Orange. Previously, she was the head bus monitor for the West Orange Board of Education. Mildred is survived by a son, Joseph Frank Schlachter of Budd Lake; by three daughters, Susan Burke of East Hanover, Joann Campos of West Orange, and Rene Garcia of Rockaway; by nine grandchildren, Brian, Lalena, Lea, Gabriella, Julian, Samantha, Julia, Haley and Michael; by five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brianna, Frank, Michael and Alyssa, and by a brother, Thomas Somma of Florida. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Schlachter, by a grandson, Ryan Schlachter, and by a brother, George Somma.
