Mary Jean Fleming Finley - age 78. Our mother, nanny and great-nan died peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2008.Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Music will be provided by Carol Whisenant and Lee Fleming. Jackie Whisenant and Steve Cole will officiate. Burial in Rainbow Memorial Park. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.Mrs. Finley was born on July 19, 1929, in Etowah County and resided in Attalla all of her life. She was an active member of the El Se–or Club, Southside Seniors, Stowers Hill Baptist Church and she was the president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Unit 71. She was known as "Nanny" to everyone, especially the children of First Baptist Church, Attalla, Day Care and Stowers Hill Baptist Church nursery.Mrs. Finley was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Milton E. Finley; parents, Curt and Pluma Fleming; sister, Sue Goza; brother, Kenneth Fleming; and by her son-in-law, Barry Beggs.She is survived by her children, Kay (Wayne) Cole, Vickie Beggs, Glen (Cynthia) Finley and Jane (Tim) Brooks; grandchildren, Kelly (Mike) McLamb, Steve (Susan) Cole, Jennifer (Jesse) Johnson, Wesley Finley, Caroline (Mark) Harris, Curt (Angel) Finley, Jonathan Beggs, Drew Brooks and Brian Brooks; sisters, Betty Stewart and Nancy (Jerry) Stillson; brother, Bobby (Mary Sue) Fleming; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Clay Cole, Lukas Johnson, Hayden Finley, Noah Beggs and Aubrey McLamb (due in September); special friends, Mildred Sheffield, Ethel Clem, Virginia Smith, Dot and Tony Masucci, Betty Crowe and Shirley Dupont. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Morgan Funeral Chapel and on Sunday up until the hour of service.
