TEWKSBURY - Mary Isabelle (Kennedy) Millett, R.N., 72, a longtime Tewksbury resident and nurse, died Thursday, Sept. 9, at her home. She was the wife of Emmet R. Millett, with whom she recently celebrated their 51st anniversary. Born in Charlestown on Dec. 15, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Joseph R. and Mary I. (Fralick) Kennedy. She was educated in Lowell schools and in 1949 graduated from Lowell High School, where she was a major in the Girl Officers Association. In 1951, she completed the Tewksbury Hospital School of Nursing Program. She went on to the Northern Essex Community College Nursing Program and received her registered nurse associate's degree in 1971. In 1978, she graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree in health science. Mrs. Millett worked at the Tewksbury State Hospital for her entire nursing career. She retired as the assistant director of nursing in 1989 after 38 years of service. She was a member of the Northeastern University Alumni, Sigma Epsilon Rho Honor Society, the Retired Massachusetts State Employee Association and the Tewksbury Senior Citizen Group. In addition to her husband, survivors include four children and their spouses, Mary Jo (Millett) and Steve Field, Emmet R. Jr. and Laurel (Sykes) Millett, John F. and Sandi (Heath) Millett, and Martha A. (Millet) and Dave Vaughn; nine grandchildren, Lucy (MacRae) Brassard, MaryEllen MacRae, Evan, Emily, Hillary, Molly and Michael Millett, Shelby and Matthew Vaughn; a great-grandchild, Erich Brassard; three sisters, Kathryn Martino, Jessie Kennedy and Josephine Karner; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Anne Brooks and Louise York.
