BYRNE, MARY A. (ULSH), 94, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2007. She was formerly of New Albany, IN. She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society, a charter member of the Daughters of Isabella in New Albany and a graduate of New Albany High School. She was South Indiana Tennis Champion in 1929 and played basketball for several Kentuckiana teams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice A. Byrne, Sr. and daughter, Kathleen Marie. She is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Lee (Kil); sons, Bob (Mary), Patrick (Brenda), Michael (Marilyn) and Maurice, Jr. (Celeste Anderson); 13 grandchildren, Autumn, Jeremiah, Gabriel, Jewel, Dawn, Robert, William, Mary Kay, Grace, Rose, Andrea, Erin and Neil; twelve great-grandchildren, Tanner, Reece, Jackson, Jameson, Elijah, Isaiah, Nathanael, Amber, Hayden, Gabrielle, Ella and Elsa. Special thanks to the staff, volunteers and residents of Sacret Heart Village for sharing the many good times and a few difficult ones. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth of Hungary, 1020 E. Burnett Avenue with burial following at St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation will be noon- 9 p.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady - Russman & Sons Funeral Home, 1201 East Oak Street. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Sacred Heart Village or The Edmundites.
