Margaret S. Belisle July 2, 1922 - March 5, 2009 LISBON - Margaret Stafford Belisle, 86, of Rimek Rd. died as a result of a stroke at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London surrounded by her family on Thursday. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Howard and Madeline (Dunham) Stafford and had lived in the area all of her life. On July 17, 1943 she was married to the late William J. Belisle Jr. Mrs. Belisle worked at various jobs but principally at the Lisbon Central School and the State of Connecticut DMV. She is survived by her sons William J. Belisle Jr. and James H. Belisle both of Lisbon, her sister Helen Walker and her husband Gordon of East Granby, a brother Howard Stafford and his wife Norma of Phoenix, Az., six grandchildren; Dawn Spinney, Denise Savage, Beverly Belisle, Alyssa Belisle, Eric Page, Daniel Belisle, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Donna Stanfield. The Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Rd. Rt. 138 Jewett City is in charge of private arrangements.
