Mary "Jeanne" Byrne of Pearl River, NY on November 21, 2009, Jeanne peacefully joined her husband of 59 years , William John Byrne, in heaven. Born on May 4, 1921 to John Jesse and Eleanor O'Hern Brannon, she was 88 years old. Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Maureen Ryan and son-in-law Gerard Ryan, of Pearl River, daughter Eileen Stevenson of Pine Bush, daughter Kathleen Bachor and son-in law Roger, of Congers. She also is survived by eight grandchildren, Scott Stevenson of Jeffersonville, NY, Bronwyn Lakowski of White Plains, NY, Sally Targonski of Jacksonville, FL, William Ryan of Pearl River, Robin Bachor of Brooklyn, NY, Brian Byrne Bachor of Manhattan, Andrew Bachor of Congers and Darcy Bachor of Congers. Mrs. Byrne was delighted with her three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Peyton, and Tyler Stevenson. Her brothers, Robert Brannon and John Jesse, Jr. still live in Wisconsin. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward Brannon of Wisconsin., and her beloved husband Bill in 2002. Bill & Jeanne married September 12, 1942 at St. Rita's Church in Racine Wisconsin. After her husband's safe return from the war, they made a home in Racine with their three daughters. After the family moved to Rockland County New York in 1958, and to Pearl River in 1961, Jeanne worked in the Pearl River High School. She retired in 1973. Jeanne enjoyed learning skills such as chair caning & rushing, was an accomplished seamstress, and explored other traditional pursuits like embroidery, crochet, quilting, canning food, gardening , and ceramics. She also had a beautiful singing voice. Mrs. Byrne was an active member of the Pearl River Seniors for many years.Mary Jeanne Byrne will be remembered for her deep love for her family and her wonderful sense of humor.Calling hours are Tues 3-5 and 7-9 pm at WymanFisher Funeral Home in Pearl River. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wed at St. Margaret's Church in Pearl River. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
