Louise Dorothy Singler (nee Tamke) Born on April 3, 1920 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully in hospital on April 1, 2011. Loved and missed by her daughter Laraine; sisters Margaret (Frank) Schmirler in Regina, SK, and Edna Matthews in Saskatoon, SK; many nephews and nieces and others who called her Auntie Louise. Predeceased by her husband John; parents Reinhold and Ella (Poier) Tamke; and brothers William (Liz) and Gordon (Lil) Tamke. Louise was raised in the Haultain district near Saskatoon, SK and moved with her husband and baby daughter to Vancouver in 1946. She was a gifted knitter and seamstress and her painting skills enriched many of the wood crafts created by her husband of 66 years. She loved to travel and took great pleasure in socializing and travelling with friends and family. In the past 16 years, Louise particularly enjoyed the coffee time visits and social activities at her condo residence in Coquitlam. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 7th at Hope Lutheran Church, 3151 York Street, Port Coquitlam. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in Louise's memory to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation, 475 Guildford Way, Port Moody, V3H 3W9, or to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the staff at Eagle Ridge Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care during her hospital stay. Louise will be remembered and missed by her many friends and family members for her gentle spirit, love of life, and kind and compassionate nature.
