FORD - Lawrence (Larry) John, 61, formerly of Fort Macleod, Alberta, recently re-located to Saskatoon, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2005. Larry was born in St John, NB on August 22, 1943 to his late parents, Celenda Blanche and John, and shared 37 wonderful years with his loving wife, Linda. Larry is survived by his children, David (Karen), Michael (Dawn), and Timothy; his grandchildren, Melissa, Emily, and Camille; and his two brothers, Wilfred and Fred. Larry worked as a veterinarian, beginning his practice on Prince Edward Island after graduating with the first class from the Veterinary College at U of S in 1969. Larry continued his career with Agriculture Canada, Health of Animals and later food inspection, retiring two years ago after a career spanning 25 years in government. Larry had a military background, attaining the rank of Captain, 18th Field Regiment RCA, and remained a member of the Legion throughout his life. Larry was active with the Lion's Club, particularly the Alberta Lion's Eye Bank, and ensured that others could retain the gift of vision following his death through corneal donation. Larry loved being around people and spending time with his family and friends. Larry's pursuit of his passion of traveling was cut short, and we pray that his voyages will continue in the next life. We will all miss him terribly. Also a very special thanks to Dr. Donat and the wonderful nurses on 6300 RUH. Cremation has taken place. Larry's life will be celebrated from 7:00 9:00 p.m., Friday, June 3rd, at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 362 (Nutana), 3021 Louise St., Saskatoon, with Rev. Faye Ford officiating. Light reception to follow at the Legion. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
