John F (Jack) O'Shea of Lexington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family August 7, 2013. Beloved husband of Constance M (Rogalski) O'Shea. Loving Father of Christopher J and his wife Suimei of Billerica, Stephanie A Boggs and her husband Marc of Lexington. Cherished Grandfather of John O'Shea and Tynan Boggs. Dear brother of Gertrude Trottier of Bradford, MA, Katherine Collins and her husband Joseph of Chelmsford. And the late Gladys Day. Survived by several nieces and nephews. A United States Navy Veteran Jack served on the USS Randolph during WWII. Jack was a member of the American Legion of Arlington and a member of the Arlington Elks and was a former Lexington Little League Baseball Coach. He retired from N.E. Tel and Tel Co. after 42 years of service. After retiring he had several part time positions but his favorite job for the past eleven years was working for the Town of Lexington in the Center. He would call himself a "Sidewalk Engineer" and boasted how Lexington Center never look so good- till he worked his magic. Jack was an avid gardener and took great love and care nurturing his beautiful flower garden. Jack's other passion was the ocean and he spent all of his summers vacationing at the family's summer home at Good Harbor Beach, Gloucester MA. He also enjoyed traveling but his favorite vacation spot was cruising to Bermuda. Jack was a loving husband to his wife for 50 years this October. He dedicated his life to raising his two children and especially adored spending time with his two Grandson's John and Tynan. Jack lived his life on his own terms with a wonderful sense of humor, honesty and dignity and has been called a "True Boston Original" and he will be missed greatly by so many. A Mass of Christian burial was held August 10th at Sacred Heart Church, Lexington. Contributions in Jack's name can be made to : The Lexington Tree Fund, 201 Bedford St., Lexington, MA 02421
