FINE DAY-On Sunday November 19, 2006, John Henry Fine Day passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends following a long courageous battle with Leukemia. A member of the Sweetgrass First Nation John Henry was born August 6, 1974 in Regina. He was predeceased by his mother Patricia Fine Day; brothers Brooke Fine Day and Brian Rohatyn; Grandparents Stan and Doris Rands and Alphonse Little Poplar. He is survived by his loving wife Stephanie Messner and son Nikosis; grandmother Irene FineDay; father Brian Rands; brother Kenneth Fine Day; sisters Emily and Naomi Boese and Cecelia and Hannah Rands. John Henry was a proud graduate of the S.I.F.C / F.N.U.C, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts Indian Art, in June of 2004. A respected artist, John worked steadily over many years practicing his craft and developing his unique style. However, it was during his fight with cancer that his artwork flourished. He was prolific in his final years building a significant body of work that he proudly displayed at numerous shows and exhibitions. But John's proudest moment came with the birth of son his Nikosis who he loved and cherished. All who were blessed to have known him will miss John Henry and his kind and gentle spirit, but his memory will remain in our hearts forever. A celebration of John Henry's life will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2006 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Unitarian Fellowship, College Avenue and Angus St., Regina, Sask. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Friends of B3, care of the Pasqua Hospital.
