ALBANY John F. Shea, 77, of Albany, beloved husband of Anna (Kearns) Shea for 55 years, died at his residence Wednesday, July 14, 2004. He was born in Albany, the son of the late Joseph and Sarah (McGloine) Shea. Mr. Shea was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired after 20 years of service from the Albany County Airport, serving as a sheriff deputy and security guard. He was a member of the VFW Post 1019 in Albany. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children, John Shea, Carol VanWie, Susan Shea, Jerry Shea of Albany, Michael (Kathleen) Shea of Rensselaer and Eileen (Edward) Kruzinski of Delanson. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Deric (Shawna) VanWie, Amanda Shea, Stephen Shea, Justin D'Alessandro, Sarah Kruzinski, Megan Kruzinski; two great-grandchildren, Miranda and Timothy VanWie; a brother, James (Rita) Shea of Albany; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Shea was the brother of the late Marion Hennessey, Joseph Shea, Genevieve Evans and Edward Shea. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:15 from McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Albany at 9:00 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
