BEDFORD - John "Jack" Edmunds, 92, of Bedford, passed Sunday, September 16, 2012 at St. Teresa Health Care Center in Manchester.Mr. Edmunds was born March 3, 1920 in Lexington, Mass., a son of Noah and Augusta (Collins) Edmunds and had resided in Concord, in his younger years before settling in Bedford.Prior to retirement, Mr. Edmunds was a sales representative with Dobles Chevrolet as well as with the Schonland's Company. In later years he enjoyed time spent as a school bus driver.Mr. Edmunds was a longtime active member of the Masonic Fraternity, the Odd Fellows organization and was a post commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars having been a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.Mr. Edmunds very much enjoyed his position as orchestra leader of The Melody Men, spanning a time frame of 53 years.Family includes his wife of 67 years, Sylvia (Galley) Edmunds; a son, Stephen Edmunds and his wife, Julie; a daughter, Doreen Long and her husband, Jeffrey; four grandchildren, Kristi Suter, Ashley Moulton, Mallory Shafer and Brett Long; a sister, June Novo; as well as many nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be Thursday, September 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cate & Johnson Funeral Home, 573 Pine Street, corner of Harrison Street in Manchester.Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 105 Windsong Avenue in Manchester. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester.Memorial contribution may be sent to Perpetual Education Fund, c/o Bishop Kevin Albiston, 8 Fern Terrace, Bedford, NH 03110.
