JoAnn M. Hammon FLOYD JoAnn M. Hammon, 43, of Soule Rd., Floyd, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born on July 6, 1970, in Rome, the daughter of Tom and Shirley Plourde. She was a graduate of Holland Patent Central School, Class of 1988, and Herkimer County Community College. She was an accountant technician at DFAS in Rome for several years. JoAnn previously worked at Steinbach. JoAnn was a member of St. Leos Church in Holland Patent. JoAnn was a great athlete especially at field hockey, a talent she passed down to her two daughters. She was also known for her sense of humor. She cherished spending time with her children and family. She will be remembered as a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and Godmother who was treasured by her family. Surviving besides her mother, Shirley, of Rome; are two daughters, Megan Quintanilla, and Melissa Quintanilla, all of Rome; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Robin Carney, of Yorkville, and Diane and Tim Heburn, of Floyd; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, John Hammon, of Floyd, Raymond and Susan Hammon, of Las Vegas, NV, and Mike and Jeanette Hammon, of Magnolia, DE; and several nieces and nephews. JoAnns family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care and especially to Dr. Amy Gorczynski for all the kindness and compassion shown to her. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at the Nunn and HarperFuneral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, and a Mass of the Christian Burial at St. Leos Church, Holland Patent, at 10:30 a.m., where the Rev. Vincent P. Long will officiate. Interment will take place in Floyd Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
