James W. Bowden, 73, Sarasota, died Nov. 4, 2003. He was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Crystal Falls, Mich., and came to Sarasota in 1963 from Jacksonville. He retired in 1965 as district manager at Scotty's and then worked part-time at Lowe's. He graduated from the University of Florida and was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of Church of the Incarnation. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Linda; sons James Jr. of Atlanta and Scott of Fort Myers; sisters June Skees of Stuart and Lee A. Cote of Tampa; a brother, Don of Sebring; and five grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Incarnation. Burial will be in the church memorial garden.
