James A. (Jim) Rennie, 58, of West Frankfort Departed this life 2:36 am, Friday, November 12, 2010 at Franklin Hospital in Benton. He was born July 11, 1952, in Christopher, a son of James A. and Priscilla (McElyea) Rennie, Sr. He married Victoria Jean Shockley on April 12, 2003. Jim was a Navy veteran and worked for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Family Worship Center and provided fishing equipment to children and founded the Hooked on Jesus Program for Children. He is survived by his mother: Priscilla Rennie of West Frankfort; wife: Victoria Rennie of West Frankfort; son: James Alan Rennie and wife Ryoko of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters:Sarah Sciluffo and husband Tony of West Frankfort, Emily Bryant and husband Shane of Summersville, North Carolina; stepchildren: Justin Lea Cobb, Sandra Lynn Prather and husband John Lee of Como, IN; grandchildren: Maddy & Peyton Sciluffo, Gracey & Mya Bryant, Alan Rennie; step-grandchild: Elizabeth Lynn Prather; brothers: Mike Rennie and wife Kim of West Frankfort, John Rennie and wife Mary of Washington, IN. James is preceded in death by his father Jim Rennie, Sr., daughter Heather Rennie, and niece Autumn Woolsey. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Varis-Stone Funeral Home. Interment will be in Tower Heights Cemetery. Friends of the James Rennie family may call at Varis-Stone Funeral Home 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday. Military graveside honors will be conducted by Orient American Legion and VFW Post of West Frankfort.
