THORNTON, JR. James Delmar Thornton, Jr. (Junior) born January 21, 1944. A 40 year resident of Orange Park, FL. 3 years ago, moved to Greenville, MS and then 1 year ago moved to Marion, AR. He is survived by his wife, Sue Gowens Thornton, daughter (Tammy Patterson, husband Perry, Jonesboro, AR), son (Del Thornton, wife April, Marion, AR), sister (Gerry Mann, Centerville, OH), brother (Harold Thornton, wife Marge, Columbus, OH), 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He retired with 30 years service at Gerdau/Ameristeel, Baldwin, FL. He was also seen around Bel-Med Athletic Association where he was a volunteer for 25 years. His passion was making the grounds at Bel-Med, Greenville Christian School, and West Memphis Christian School the best they could be for the young people. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to West Memphis Christian School-Football Field Fund, PO Box 996, West Memphis, AR 72303. The viewing will be held from 2 pm till 4 pm on Sunday 8-14-2011 and the service will be held on Monday 8-15-2011 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL 32073.
