<!-- FH = North Brevard Funeral Home -->Henry Champion Ford, 89, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012. He was born September 24, 1922, in Palatka, Florida, to the late George and Martha Ford, and moved to Titusville in 1925. Henry graduated from Titusville High School in 1940, where he played football and baseball, and graduated from the University of Alabama in December 1943. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II as Company Commander through the Battle of the Bulge and Ruhr Pocket with the 7th Armored Division. After the war, he met and married Kathryn J. Igler in 1947, and they returned to Titusville. He became a partner with his father at Titusville Hardware Company which he operated until his retirement in 1978. Henry was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Titusville and First Baptist Church of Merritt Island. He was also a member of the Titusville Kiwanis Club for over 50 years and the Elks Lodge.He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn, in 1974; and cousin, Dorothy Hall. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Jean Smith Ford; two daughters, Elaine M. Jennings (fiance, Jeff) and Suzanne J. White (Ray); two granddaughters, Charysse Carter (Ricky) and Nicole Herron (Eddie); two great grandsons, Jackson and Carson; step daughter, Rhonda Smith (Tom); step son, Harold Smith (Jody); former son-in-law, Ray Jennings; and cousin, Sarah Margaret Irving.Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wuesthoff Hospice House in Rockledge.Online condolences may be left at www.northbrevardfuneralhome.com.
