Helen was born June 11, 1929 to the best parents ever, Chesley (Pud) Powell and wife Rose.Helen and her Dad Pud built and operated Powell Service Station on W. Kearney. That is where she me her husband William Joy. They were united in marriage November 20, 1949 and had 62 wonderful years together! Helen and William worked the station side by side for a long time. Later they hauled and sold produce in the area and she was sometimes know as the "Apple Lady".Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Chesley and Rose Powell. She is survived by her husband, William Joy, a loving daughter, Kathy Mize and husband Jim, a hard-working son, Ed Joy and wife Jill, one special grandson, Jake Mize, 3 other grandchildren whom I never see and 2 great-grandsons which I also never see. Helen is also survived by sister, Artie Dosch, Clear Lake, WI as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
