Harry Samuel Lodge, 97, of Bridgeton died Saturday afternoon July 12, 2014 at Eagleview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsgrove Township. He was born in Greenwich and was the son of the late Samuel and Addie Hood Lodge. A lifetime Bridgeton area resident, he was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Helen Reba (nee Pennington) Lodge in 2003. Mr. Lodge was a production supervisor at the EI DuPont Company Chambersworks plant in Deepwater. He proudly never missed a day of work and retired following 42 years, five months and 12 days of service. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Temple in Bridgeton and was a 60 year member of Brearley Lodge #2 F&AM in Bridgeton. He was also a member of The Society of the Anointed Past High Priests and The Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine. Survivors include one daughter, Gwen Hitchner and her husband Philip of Bridgeton, two grandchildren, Kristy Lynn Hitchner and Philip Dustin Hitchner, one great grandson, Philip Dustin Hitchner Jr. and a brother, Carl Lodge of Pedricktown. He is also survived by his caretaker, Mary Ann and was predeceased by a brother, Russell Lodge. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the FREITAG FUNERAL HOME, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Wednesday morning July 16th at 11 o'clock. The interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10 until 11. Memorial contributions in Mr. Lodge's memory are suggested to the Berean Baptist Temple, 68 Vine Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
