Winslow - George "Del" Libby, 82, of Winslow passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010. He was a long-term resident at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home in Waterville."Del" was born in Winslow, Feb. 3, 1928, son of Albert and Jeanette Libby.He was employed by Colby College as a security guard for 25 years. "Del" was a lifetime member of the Waterville Lodge of Elks, which he enjoyed greatly.He was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline Libby, and by one sister, Beulah Gerald, of Waterville.Survivors include one brother, Maynard, and wife, Glenita Libby, of China; two daughters, Allison Libby and Bonnie and William Powell, all of Winslow; seven grandchildren, Brian Pomerleau of New Sharon, Kristie Widerynski of Winslow, Jamie Pomerleau, Jeremy "JJ" Pomerleau both of Waterville, Melissa Proctor of Canaan, Stacy Libby of Waterville, Crystal Whittemore of Vassalboro; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010, with a funeral service at 6 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville with Pastor William Galloway of Element 3 of Fairfield officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville.
