ENFIELD - George Andrew Collins, 71, passed away Sept. 25, 2011, at Penobscot Valley Hospital, Lincoln. He was born Dec. 18, 1939, at home in Old Town, the son of Paul and Eva (Oakes) Collins. George was a graduate of Old Town High School, Class of 1959, and spent his career as a millwright at local mills, retiring from Diamond Stud Mill, Passadumkeg. In retirement he and his wife established Wildwood Pet Cremations, Enfield. George was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Suzanne W. (Merrill) of Howland; his sister, Orella Chandler of Milford; and his children, Cameron Currier Sr. of Greenbush, Wendy Webb of Spring Lake, N.C., Gail Betts of Deer Isle, Michael Collins of Raleigh, N.C., and Patricia Godsey of Blue Hill. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. George will be missed by his lifelong friends, the Richards boys from French Island, and his extended family. There will be a memorial service 11 a.m. Sept. 28 at Ammadamast Grange Hall, Enfield, by Pastor Keith Shorey.
