Avis de décès de George-Alfred Duprey

PITTSFIELD -- George Alfred Duprey, 89, formerly of 60 Grove St., died Wednesday at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, where he had resided since August 2002. Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 27, 1915, son of Alfred P. and Adeline M. Filiere Duprey, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served as a motor machinist's mate, third class, from June 1943 until November 1945. Mr. Duprey had been employed by GE for 35 years, retiring as a production clerk in 1971. He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and the VFW. He enjoyed automobiles and listening to music. His wife, the former Annette M. Laurin, whom he married July 20, 1940, died March 27, 1994. He leaves two daughters, Christine A. Rodick of Pittsfield and Susan M. Duprey of Brooklyn, N.Y., six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for George A. Duprey, who died Feb. 2, 2005, will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Vermont Veterans Home of Bennington through DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, which is handling arrangements. He is lovingly survived by his six grandchildren, John, Adam, Andrea and Kristy Rodick, and Christopher and Benjamin Irish, and by his two great-grandchildren, Thomas and Skylar Rodick. He was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Louis Duprey, and by a sister, Evelyn Hebert. Published in The Berkshire Eagle on 2/6/2005.
