He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late James Albert and Annie Mae Parker Duke. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Wilma Jo and his son, Ronnie.Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Rev. Ann Cover will officiate. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery.He is survived by his son, Jerry (Peggy) of Nashville; grandchildren, Michael (Melanie) Duke, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Lassiter, David (Alex Carulla) Duke and Duane (Angie) Duke; great-grandchildren, McKnight and Iris Lassiter, Jessica Duke, Alex and Jackson Duke, and daughter-in-law, Peggy Duke of Readyville.Mr. Duke served his country in the US Army during WWII as a Combat Engineer and later retired from the Contruction Industry.Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna (615) 459-3254. www.woodfinchapel.com
