Sister St. Emma (Eileen Mary Allison) Sister St. Emma, (Eileen Mary Allison), a Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, Ontario died in Pembroke, Ontario on the 9th day of October, 2004 in the 75th year of her Religious Life. She leaves to mourn her nephew, Brock MacDougall (wife Donna) Paisley, Ontario, many other nieces and nephews, as well as friends and members of her Religious Community. Predeceased by her parents, William Allison and Emma Cameron, her Brothers, William, Cameron, Andrew, Connor, Gordon, Charles, Jack and Clifford, her sisters, Annie Griggs, Alice (Sister Alexis C.S.J.), Claire, Jean Nellist, Gladys MacDougall and Inez (Sister Eileen C.S.J). Sister St. Emma was born on October 15, 1911 in Vankleek Hill, Ontario. She entered the Grey Sisters' Community on October 15, 1929. A gifted, competent, and dedicated teacher, Sister St. Emma taught in Ottawa and Pembroke schools for many years. From 1953-1964 she was Principal of Our Lady's High School in Pembroke. In 1964 Sister St. Emma was elected to the General Council of the Grey Sisters' Community, serving for the next ten years as Councillor and as Assistant to the Superior General. Following further education in Canon Law at St. Paul's University, she worked in the Marriage Tribunal of the Military Vicariate of Canada for the next five years. Remaining in Ottawa and living at Assumption Convent, Sister St. Emma assisted with various convent duties until she retired to the Motherhouse in Pembroke in 1999. Due to failing health she eventually transferred to Shalom, Marianhill Residence in 2003. Resting at the GREY SISTERS MOTHERHOUSE, 700 Mackay Street, Pembroke, Ontario on Monday, October 12th, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. with Special Vespers in the Chapel at 7 p.m. Liturgy of the Resurrection in the Motherhouse Chapel on Tuesday, October 12th, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. Members of the C.W.L. Cathedral Parish will meet for prayer at the Motherhouse on Monday, October 11th, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. Interment in St. Columba's Cemetery, Pembroke, Ontario.
