Wheeler, Edwin E. Palmyra: 81, died on Mon., March 9, 2009. Private burial will be in White Haven Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Sat., March 14 at the Western Presbyterian Church of Palmyra. The family will receive friends at a reception to follow in fellowship hall. Ed was born on May 29, 1927 in Binghamton, NY to John D. and Esther Herlykofer Wheeler. The funeral home proudly flies the United States Army flag in honor of Ed's service to our country. He was a member and Elder of the Western Presbyterian Church of Palmyra. Ed had served as a Palmyra Town Councilman for many years and as Supervisor for the Town of Palmyra from 1985- 91. He had volunteered in many capacities including as an ombudsman for the elderly, member of the Wayne County Commission for Public Health and chairman of the Executive Committee of the Resident Council at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Ed was a long time member of the Palmyra-Macedon Rotary Club and was very proud to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most Casinos visited world wide. Ed was predeceased by his wife Diane M. Wheeler; daughter Lynn Notareschi; son Christopher E. Wheeler and sister Grace Wheeler. He is survived by his son-in-law Gerald Notareschi; granddaughter Amie Fabrizio and grandsons Jason and Jeffrey Notareschi. Arrangements have been entrusted to Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc.
