->Edward McFaddenLAGRANGEVILLE - On Sunday, August 26, 2012, Edward M. McFadden, 78, passed away at Wingate at Ulster and went home to join his beloved wife in peace. Born in New York City on December 25, 1933, he was the son of John Patrick and Kathleen Fitzgerald McFadden. Edward served in the United States Army during the Korean War and then worked for Otis Elevator in New York City until his retirement. He was working on the elevators in the Chrysler Building in New York City when he met a young, beautiful woman named Joan D'Amico. They went out for coffee, and a great romance was born. On September 21, 1957 at St. Michael's Church in Brooklyn, he married Joan, who was the center of his world and the light of his life until she predeceased him on January 4, 2011. Edward and Joan lived in Brooklyn during the early years of their marriage before moving to Yonkers, then to LaGrangeville in 1975, where they remained for the duration of their lives. Edward was a member of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction and Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. He was devoted to his family, and was happiest when surrounded by those he loved, especially his two granddaughters, Victoria and Lorelei. Edward is survived by his daughter, Joan W. McFadden of LaGrangeville; his siblings, Frances Perriera, Margaret Lee, Rosemary Campbell, Kathleen Mezes, William McFadden, Patricia Bell, and Desmond McFadden, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, John McFadden. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Victoria McKenna VanTassell and Lorelei Civitillo, and his beloved brother-in-law, Anthony D'Amico, and his wife, Carolyn, of North Carolina, along with Carolyn and Ray Bradbury and their three children Kaitlyn, Patrick, and Ryan of Pennsylvania, and Anthony and Jodie D'Amico and their son Ronan of Long Island, NY. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
