->Doyle, EdgarEdgar Doyle, 69, of Groton, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 26, 2012. Ed was a native of Cortland, the son of the late Garnet and Ester Bell Doyle. He had resided in Auburn prior to moving to the Groton area five years ago. He retired from the Binghamton Psychiatric Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Carol Dewey Doyle, three sons Michael (Marge) of Auburn, David (Tina) of Burdette and Clifford (Jessica Butler) of Scipio, his daughter, Penny (Stephen) David of Port Byron, 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Edwin Renshaw of S. Carolina, Walter Doyle of Kentucky and Roger Doyle of Georgia. He was predeceased by his daughter, Marguriette Hoffman in 1993.Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St., Auburn. Funeral services will be at 7 P.M. following calling hours, and conducted by Rev. John Iler. Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday in Throopsville Rural Cemetery.
