DOYLE -Edgar William. It is with great sadness that the family of Edgar William Doyle announces his passing on Friday, June 23, 2006 in Saskatoon Royal University Hospital at the age of 87. Edgar was born in 1923 in Harris, SK to Ferman and Cora Doyle. They moved to a farm in the Eldersley area in 1923. Edgar attended Clashmoor and Eldersley Schools and graduated in 1940. He homesteaded east of Clashmoor after a short time in Vancouver. Edgar farmed with his father until 1974 when Ferman died, then continued on his own until 1980 when he retired to Tisdale. Edgar enjoyed sports, playing baseball with the Clashmoor team in his youth. He later took up curling and golfing where he recorded 2 holes-in-one. Edgar enjoyed traveling and playing cards with his friends. Edgar was predeceased by his parents, Ferman and Cora; sisters, Marion Doyle, Edna Davis, Marjorie Head, and Margaret Morton; brother, Gordon Doyle; nephew, Joe Davis; and niece, Eleanor Morton. He is survived by two brothers, Walter (Joy) Doyle and Allan Doyle of Victoria; numerous nieces and nephews and very special friend, Irene Bush of Tisdale. At Edgar's request there will be no formal funeral or memorial service. There will be a celebration of Edgar's life on July 15, 2006 at the Tisdale Golden Age Center, 1117 97th St., Tisdale, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
