LITTLE, Donald William June 11, 1944 - July 27, 2011Don Little died on July 27, 2011, surrounded by family, following complications from surgery at the University of Alberta Hospital. Don was born and raised in Calgary and moved with his family to Edmonton in 1980, when he was appointed Manager of Picker X-Ray. He successfully established several businesses in the field of diagnostic imaging, including Innomed, DC Diagnosticare which he took public on the TSE, and Canadian Imaging. Don pioneered some unique developments in digital radiology technology. His many friends, however, knew that he could also have made a good living as a stand- up comedian. Generous and kind-hearted in the extreme, Don always said that we only have one "go-around" on this earth. He certainly made the most of this opportunity, bringing joy and good humour into the lives of everyone he met. Whether it was business clients, members of the medical profession, family friends or even politicians, Don had a natural ability to make everyone feel at ease in his presence. Sometime disc jockey, imbiber of good wines, handyman, model train enthusiast and bon viveur, one could not help but love Don. He will be sorely missed by his wife Judith, his son Mark, daughters Stephanie and Bonnie, and granddaughters Taylor, Kristen and Brooklyn, as well as by relatives and friends.Don's Funeral will take place on August 8, 2011, which will be attended by family only. Don's wish was for family and friends to raise a glass or two in his memory at a party to be held at a later date.
