Charles H. Blind, 94, of West Orange died Oct. 19, 2010. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Pleasantdale Presbyterian Church, West Orange. Visiting is in the Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave. (at Eagle Rock Avenue), Roseland, on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Entombment is in Restland Memorial Park Mausoleum, East Hanover. Mr. Blind was born in West Orange and was a lifelong resident. He was a World War II Army veteran. Charles worked for New Jersey Bell for over 40 years as a switchman and then as an instructor, retiring in 1980. He served in the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps), and was a member of American Legion Post 22 and the West Orange Kiwanis Club. Mr. Blind was the husband of Blanche Blind for 69 years; father of Arlene Monaco and Marilyn Rose; brother of Richard "Buddy" Blind; grandfather of Kenneth and Anthony Franconero, and great-grandfather of Bella Grace.
