CHARLESDUKE, 82Millwright BARTOW - Charles Duke, 82, of Bartow, died August 30, 2012 due to COPD. Charles was born July 7, 1930 in Coleman, AL to Tom and Gladys (White) Duke and moved to Bartow in 1985. Charles was a Millwright for most of his career and was a member of the Millwright's Union, Local #1000, Tampa and was also a member of the American Legion. He is a Korean War Army veteran and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with family and friends, dancing, music, but loving his family is what he loved the most. Charles is preceded in death by his daughter, Patty Duke Shuman; his sister, Willine Colopy and his brother, Jack Duke. Charles was united in marriage in 1951 to his wife, Delia who resides in Bartow. He is also survived by his sons, Charles Ricky (Eva) Duke, Ronald (Pam Turner) and Pete Duke, all of Bartow; his daughter, Connie Duke of Bartow; his grandchildren, Sonya (Tony) Fab-rizi, Charles Ricky (Erica) Duke, II, Khrista Moore (Casey) Fultz, Bobby Lee Moore, III, Nicole Duke (Sean) Cheek, Roni Lyn (Michael) Duke and Lil Pete Duke and his great-grandchildren, Curtis Fabrizi, Tonee Fabrizi, Leigha Moore, Lauren Duke, Tyler Cheek, Lindsay Johnson, Makenna Cheek, Travis Johnson, Jaycee Fultz and Emma Ennis. Friends will be received 10-11 am Tuesday at the Lakeland Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will take place that morning at 11:15 am with military honors in Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
