Mrs. Downey, age 47, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at home following a long illness. She was born on Dec. 16, 1957, in Michigan.Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive; with visitation being held one hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.Her husband, Patrick Downey; four children, Patrick Downey of Greenville, S.C., Robert Downey of Matthews, N.C., Carrie Clark of Summerville, S.C., Kenneth Downey of Charlotte, N.C.; and her grandchildren, Hunter and Forest; survive her. Her mother, Geraldine Finch of Killeen, Texas; and five sisters; also survive her.Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the National Jewish Medical & Research Center, 1400 Jackson Street, M104, Denver, CO 80206; or to Hospice @ Charlotte, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Matthews/Weddington Chapel.
