GIBB, Allan Alexander Passed away peacefully at home in West Vancouver on June 26, 2014 in his 97th year. Allan is survived by his children Susan (Winnipeg), Al (Corinne) in Vancouver and Elizabeth and Robert (Leona) in Calgary. Also by his brother Robert Gibb (Sidney) and his great friend and companion Deirdre Cowan. He was predeceased by his wife Bernice (2007); his parents Robert and Mary Gibb (Edmonton); brother Donald; and sister Margaret Crowle. Dad was born June 6, 1917 in Edmonton where he grew up. During the war, he worked in the weather office. After furthering his education in mathematics, he began at the at the University of Alberta at Calgary, first in the math department which was housed on grounds at SAIT in 1951, and later in the Department of Education. In 1981, he and Bernice retired to Sechelt, BC where they stayed until Bernice's health required a move to a larger centre. He was a kind and loving man, generous to a fault, and he will be greatly missed by all of us. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should you wish, a donation to the charity of your choice could be made. At dad's request there will be no church service. A Memorial Service for friends and family will occur at a later date. He will be interred in Windermere, BC.
