Alice Jean Chinik McMahon Saratoga Springs, NY - Alice Jean Chinik McMahon passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Wesley Health Care Center with family at her side. She was 75. Born on Oct. 23, 1935 in Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late Frances and James Chinik. After graduating from Vincentian Institute and the St. Peter's Hospital School of Nursing, she worked as a registered nurse at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Albany, St. Luke's Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago and at the University Heights Nursing Home also in Albany. Alice was active in Saratoga's League of Women Voters, the Junior Civic League and the Hospital Guild in the 60's and 70's. Survivors include her husband, Edward Joseph McMahon of Saratoga Springs; one daughter Karen (Robert) Brackett of Gansevoort; one son, James (Elizabeth) McMahon of Gaithersburg; one sister, Janice (Art) Milliman of Rochester; one brother, James (Penny) Chinik of Flowery Branch and two grandchildren, Robert A. Brackett III and McKenzie McMahon. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7pm Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Friday, April 29, 2011 at the funeral home with closing prayers at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave. Memorials may be made in Alice's name to the Wesley Health Care Center, 131 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
